“The twin transition is about the digital transformation joining hands with the shift towards a more sustainable society.”
Arelion takes responsibility for the wellbeing of our people, the planet, and the pursuit of sustainable business. Sustainability is an integral part of our overall strategy.
Digitization is moving fast and, as a leading light in connectivity, Arelion works tirelessly to connect a brighter future. This means so much more than running a great network. The fight against climate change - actively working to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees in accordance with the Paris Agreement – is at the very top of our agenda. And why? It’s simple. Without a sustainable network, the future isn't sustainable.
We support international frameworks, declarations and standards on human rights, labor conditions, the environment, and anti-corruption. These include: The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights; The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights; the eight core conventions set out in the International Labor Organisation (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work; The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises; and The UN Global Compact.
Sustainability also means conducting our daily work ethically, and with high integrity. With robust processes and sound working practices, we ensure that our own operations, as well as those of our partners, are conducted in a responsible manner.
We strongly believe in an equal and inclusive society, where everyone has the right to be themselves, and this belief lies at the heart of our own organizational culture. Arelion is a welcoming workplace where everyone can thrive and develop their full potential, and where we proudly celebrate diversity and inclusion.
Arelion has made wide-ranging sustainability commitments for the 2040 horizon with the aim of reducing its negative environmental impact, and to provide renewable, energy-efficient solutions which support circular principles.
Partnerships and supplier relationships are crucial to delivering efficient green network solutions. The base year for sustainability targets is 2021. See our goals below.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030, all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The following SDGs have been specifically chosen to intersect directly with Arelion’s own sustainability goals.
Besides the provision of voice and data services on its own network, Arelion also extends its reach with the services of third-party network providers. The value chain illustrated below highlights the difference between the services offered by Arelion and the resources provided by third parties.
