New routes

Connectivity changes constantly and we are always adding new routes – bringing the award-winning Arelion network experience to key connectivity hubs around the world. Here are our newest routes:

2024

New routes connecting Atlanta to key Florida landing stations

Two additional routes on our east coast US network between Atlanta-Jacksonville-Tallahassee, and Atlanta-Tallahassee-Tampa-Miami add further capacity to our extensive East Coast US footprint, connecting subsea traffic flows from Latin America and Caribbean to the new scale AI/ML Atlanta data center hub (and beyond, via metro networks in Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Tampa).

  • Overbuild route on Florida west coast for additional diverse capacity at scale

2023

Additional US east-west route from Denver to San Jose

This new high-capacity route provides additional connectivity from Denver, CO to San Jose CA via Salt Lake City, UT and Reno, NV. The completion of this project establishes Arelion’s fourth east to west coast route in North America and provides scalable capacity, including 400G, 100G & 10G wave services into new regional data centers and markets.   • New PoP in Denver regional hub Flexential Centennial (on Denver metro) 
  • Connects into Flexential in Salt Lake City downtown with metro extensions to EdgeConneX & Databank facilities
  • New PoP in Reno at the Switch campus
  • New diverse routing east of the bay to the San Jose/Santa Clara metro  
  • An open Optical Line system supporting C+L Band and multi-vendor 400G wave capability including Bright 400G-ZR+ disaggregated optics

Unique routing for US East Coast landing stations

A new, fully diverse high-capacity route providing connectivity from Reston, VA to Charlotte, NC via Virginia Beach CLS and Raleigh, NC, before continuing south via Jacksonville to Miami.

This system provides unique routing for traffic flowing north and south from the major international landing stations in Virginia Beach, Jacksonville and Miami, and provides scalable capacity - including 400G, 100G & 10G wave services - into new regional data centers and markets. Key benefits include:

  • A terrestrial extension for traffic from MAREA (EU), DUNANT (EU) and BRUSA (BR) subsea cables landing in Virginia Beach
  • Terrestrial backhaul options north with diversity from Ashburn and directly south with diversity from Northern Virginia
  • New pop serving Raleigh, NC (Flexential) and the greater RTP area
  • A new (5th) diverse path into Charlotte with a new PoP in TierPoint
  • Additional capacity supporting terrestrial transport of subsea traffic terminating in the Jacksonville and Miami areas
  • An open Optical Line system supporting C+L Band and multi-vendor 400G wave capability including Bright 400G-ZR+ disaggregated optics

2022

Two new routes from the US into Mexico

Two new fully diverse routes connecting McAllen TX to Monterrey Mexico and Laredo TX to Monterrey Mexico providing seamless and reliable connectivity from the US into Mexico.

These new DWDM systems connect to Arelion’s extensive network throughout North America and beyond and provide scalable capacity including 400G, 100G & 10G wave services into Mexico. Key benefits include:

  • To the south, these routes connect Arelion’s Points-of-Presence (PoPs) in McAllen (MDC – MCA2) to Monterrey (Equinix - MO1) and Laredo (VTX) to Monterrey (Neutral Networks Pabellón M
  • The pops in Monterrey are also interconnected for diverse service delivery into either site
  • An open Optical Line system supporting C+L Band and multi-vendor 400G wave capability including Bright 400G-ZR+ disaggregated optics to provide fast delivery of customer services

New Northeastern US Route for additional diversity to Europe

The addition of this diverse, high-capacity transmission route connecting Boston to Secaucus provides our customers with resilient connectivity and fast delivery that bypasses common routes going through Long Island and Manhattan.

This expansion also provides access to the Amitié sea cable system (our fifth trans-Atlantic cable route), augmenting our seamless terabit scale capability across multiple cables connecting the US and Europe, and it establishes Boston as a DWDM service hub. Key benefits include:

  • Unique northern routing via New Hampshire and Vermont from Boston to Albany
  • A southerly route connecting Orangeburg, NY (1547 Realty) and then Secaucus (Equinix NY5), completely bypassing Manhattan
  • Metro connectivity in Boston at CoreSite (70 Innerbelt) and the Markley Bldg (1 Summer Street)
  • Open Optical Line system supporting C+L Band and multi-vendor 400G wave capability including Bright 400G-ZR+ disaggregated optics
